The Naruto Cliffhanger is the worst possible future for Boruto

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations It has begun to pave the way for the next major arc of the manga series, and the final moments of the new chapter of the series have prepared even more with a terrible future for Boruto and the others! The last series of chapters in the manga were running through the aftermath of the fight with Code, and now Eida and Daemon have officially made their way to Hidden Leaf Village. Now that they’ve settled down, the series is starting to drop some major bombs as it prepares for the next conflict.

As we’ve seen since the fight with Code, Boruto and Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s powers have begun to merge as their karma becomes more advanced. With Otsutsuki’s constant attempt to control his body already a major thorn in his side, the new chapter takes this to the next level by connecting more of their minds together. Through this, Boruto ends up getting a glimpse into the future that shows everyone around him in dire straits with no real way to discern what is really going on.

What is Boruto’s excitement for the future?

Chapter 75 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations He reveals that Momoshiki and Boruto’s minds are now connected as a result of karma progression. Momoshiki doesn’t fully understand why this is happening either, and soon Boruto has a vision using the Otsutsuki’s power. Flashing images of him reveal a few ninja trying to chase down a person who ran away, Shikadai angry at the betrayal of one of his friends, Mitsuki activating his sage phase power, and Kawaki standing bloodied.

Aida manages to figure out that Boruto has an unsettling sense of some sort, but there’s no real way to piece this together yet. If from his point of view, it looks like Boruto and Kawaki are going to have a big fight but it also seems like Boruto is doing some annoying things himself. Now it’s just a matter of seeing how this dark future unfolds over the course of the rest of the most recent arc.
